History

Chelsea become the seventh club to complete the League and FA Cup double. They also become the first club since 2003 to retain the FA Cup.

Portsmouth become the first Top Division club to go into administration. They had 9 points deducted as a consequence. They become the fifth club to reach the FA Cup final and be relagated in the same season.

For the fourth occasion, the FA Cup finalists are the winners from the two previous seasons.

Manchester United equal the record of 21 consecutive qualifications for Europe set by Liverpool in 1985.
