History

More clubs joined the third level which was split into two section (called Third Division North and Third Division South) to save clubs money on travelling expenses.

Cardiff City became the first club from Wales to play in the Top Division.

Huddersfield Town won the FA Cup, their first trophy. Their only goal was a penalty - the first time the FA Cup was won by a penalty.
