Liverpool finish runners up with the highest points total for a second placed club (97 points). They finish second after losing a single game all season (something that has only happened twice before in the history of the League) and winning 30 matches.

Manchester City also retain the League Cup, winning on penalties.

Manchester City complete a unique domestic treble by also winning the FA Cup where they scored 6 equalling records in a final from 1890 and 1903.
