Arsenal and Manchester City both won in Europe, the second time that two English clubs had won in Europe in the same season.

Arsenal won the Fairs Cup, their first trophy since 1953. Manchester City became the second club to complete a European and domestic double by winning the Cup Winners Cup and the League Cup.

Everton won a record-equalling 7th Championship.
