Castile and Leon : Segovia : Plaza Mayor

Plaza Mayor is overlooked by the tower of the Church of San Miguel. In 1474 Isobel was crowned queen of Castille here. She later married Ferdinand of Aragon to unite Spain. These monarchs paid for the journeys of Christopher Columbus.
